The Eighties Ladies was the first project the Roy Ayers had undertaken as a producer and record owner for the Uno Melodic record label.

Featuring the vocals of Susan Beaubian, Marva D Hicks, Vivian D. Prince, Denie Corbett and Sylvia Striplin. Sylvia also recorded her solo album entitled "Give Me Your Love" which a 12" single of the same name followed. One of the lead vocalist with The Eighties Ladies and also featuring on the Roy Ayers solo album, Love Fantasy later released in 1980.
