Gold
Mink records was established roughly the same time as Uno Melodic records
in 1980. One of the first projects that Roy undertook on this label was
with Rick Holmes. Not much is known about him other than The "Center Of The World" album heralded the introduction of vocalist Ethel Beatty into the Ubiquity set up. However, my suspisions lead me to believe that Ethel Beatty could be the former Ethel West that featured on the "Lifeline" album. She also has only one solo release to her credit, entitled "It's Your Love. Like all the other releases on this label, distribution was on a very tight budget and not many copies of this track were available and inevitably found obscurity so this is quite a rare record and extremely hard to find. However, this masterpeice can now be found on a compilation album from the Mastercut series entitled "Classic Rare Groove", check it out!. Check out the discography to see which ones you'll need to complete your collection. If there are any tunes that we have missed out on -then mail me both I and the nation at large would be very interested to know. Top of Page |
