His musical talents had pulled him in the direction of the movie soundtrack. Roy composed, played, arranged and produced the the whole score for this superb offering entitled "Coffy", a black sexploitation movie starring Pam Grier, Booker Bradshaw, Robert Doqui, William Elliot and Sid Haig. It was one of the first Blaxploitation movies to feature a woman in a such a strong central role. Coffy, played by Grier, is out to get the men responsible for her sister's drug addiction. This classic 1973 cult movie release, must have had cinema goers literally grooving in their seats.
